A sheet-metal inspection cover, for round sheet-metal pipes 17, for sealing an inspection opening 18 is characterised by the following features: a) A cover sheet 10 is provided, the diameter of which is greater than that of the inspection opening 18; b) the cover sheet 10 has a circular-cylindrical curvature which is at least as large as the curvature of the round pipe 17; c) a continuous soft rubber strip 16 is provided on the inner surface of the cover sheet 10, in the edge region; d) opposite the inner surface of the cover sheet 10 there is provided a counter-panel 11 which comprises a circular cut-to-size piece, of a diameter greater than the diameter of the inspection opening 18, and which is cut away at least on one side and has straight longitudinal edges 14, 15, the distance between which is smaller than the inner width of the inspection opening 18; e) in the central region of the cover sheet 10 and counter-panel 11 there is provided a tightening device 23 by means of which the cover sheet and the counter-panel can be braced with respect to each other, the counter-panel 11 being supported on the inside on the round pipe and the soft rubber strip 16, running around the inspection opening, bearing in a sealing manner on the round pipe 17. <IMAGE>
