<p>PURPOSE:To recover high-purity powdery metallic copper in high yield and to obtain simultaneously useful aluminum salts as by-products, by reacting waste liquor of water-soluble copper salt with metallic aluminum. CONSTITUTION:Waste liquor containing a water-soluble salt such as cupric chloride, copper sulfate, etc. is blended with a proper amount of metallic alumi num. A vigorous reaction occurs, the temperature of the solution is raised to about 130 deg.C, and the reaction is finished. After the reaction is over, fine powder of copper having >= about 99% is precipitated in a state of fine powder. The recovered copper powder is usable for powder metallurgy. High-quality alumi num salts such as aluminum polychloride, aluminum sulfate, etc., are simultane ously obtained as by-products.</p> |
