PURPOSE:To speed up printing operations by omitting blank printing of unnecessary colors by a method in which printing is made only for colors having printing data, but not for portions coated with colors having no printing data. CONSTITUTION:A sensor to detect whether printing data for each of plural colors are stored, a controller for printing actions only for color inks for which printing data are stored, and a controller for feeding transfer ribbon coated with color inks for which printing data are not stored at faster speeds are provided. In printing all three colors of Y, M, and C, all printing is ended through the order of printing actions, printing of Y color rewinding of paper 5 to be transferred faster feeding (heading of M color) of transfer ribbon 1 printing of M color rewinding of paper 5 to be transferred faster feeding (heading of C color) of the ribbon 1 printing of C color. When M color is omitted and two colors of Y and C are printed, all printing is ended through the order of printing actions, printing of Y color rewinding of the paper 5 to be transferred faster feeding (lead-out of C color) of the ribbon 1 printing of C color. |
