The invention relates to a fastening element for osteosynthesis, especially for fixation of bone fragments via a support plate. For fastening that withstands high loads and is easy to dismantle, the fastening element comprises a flanged dowel sleeve and a screw engaging in the dowel sleeve. The diameter of the rear part-section of the inner bore of the dowel sleeve is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the screw thread, and the diameter of the front part-section of the inner bore is smaller than the core diameter of the screw.
