The invention extends to a device on lawnmowers of all types or the like for lifting low-growing twigs, branches and the like, undergrown with grass. The invention is characterised in that, during mowing, these obstacles can be lifted from the mower by means of a shovel rake, movable vertically and horizontally as well as forwards and backwards, with rounded tines, and at the same time mowing can be continued. The haft of this shovel rake is matched to the respective contours of the mower, in such a way that, with the mowing machine stationary, it can be moved in all directions to a length equal to the length of the mowing machine, and that the mowing machine can be driven for mowing, with the shovel rake held firmly.
