PURPOSE:To achieve long life of a fuel electrode and reduction of output loss due to liquid short by encasing a cell body in a trap in which the circulating liquid to the cell body overflows at a level higher than the cell body. CONSTITUTION:Circulating liquid overflows a dike 5 provided at the end of a passage 3 and is supplied through a supply passage 6 to a cell body 1 at the lower portion thereof. In the cell body 1, a part of fuel is consumed and the circulating liquid containing generated gas overflows a dike 7 provided at the upper side of the cell body 1 and falls down through an exit passage 8 to a passage 4. The fuel electrode generated gas is ejected out through an exit port 9. The passages 3, 4 are vertically communicated to each other, and the circulating liquid is uniformly supplied to and ejected from each of unit cells of the cell body 1 which are also laminated vertically. However, as the supply passage 6 and the exit passage 8 are divided by a cell frame 2 made of an insulating material for each unit cell, there remains almost no fear of liquid short between adjacent unit cells. |
