PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality recorded pictures all the time regardless of surface property of recording papers by providing a continuous gradient in thickness direction of melting points from the base sheet side to the ink layer surface for a heat-meltable ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-meltable ink layer has a continuous gradient in thickness direction of melting points, which is formed by coating a heat-meltable ink on a base sheet of a given thickness and then coating a heat-meltable ink having different melting point on the melted ink layer. In this case, a hot roll is pressingly contacted with the back of the base sheet whose surface is coated with the heat-meltable ink, and then a heat-meltable ink of a different melting point is coated on the melted ink layer as the simplest method. The gradient of melting points is regulated such that the difference in melting point between the portion touched by the base sheet and the ink layer surface is within 50 deg.C, preferably within 20 deg.C. The ink layer contains at least one or more colorants, e.g., black lead, carbon black, organic pigments, oil-soluble dyes, etc. |
