PURPOSE:To produce various ketones, easily and efficiently, by reacting an organic iodine compound with an acid halide in the presence of a palladium catalyst and a zinc-copper couple. CONSTITUTION:An organic compound (e.g. 1-methyl-3-butenyl iodide) is made to react with zinc-copper couple in a polar solvent such as dimethylformamide, tetrahydrofuran, etc., or a mixture of said polar solvent and a nonpolar solvent such as benzene, toluene, etc. preferably at 40-70 deg.C. The reaction product is added with an acid halide (e.g. tetrakistriphenylphosphine palladium) and made to react with each other at room temperature - 40 deg.C to obtain various ketones (e.g. 1-methyl-3-butenyl phenyl ketone). |
