PURPOSE:To enable building of random vessel without varying the fixing position of hull on the building berth by surrounding the stern having a shaft bracket projecting considerably below the bottom with water-tight movable dam. CONSTITUTION:Temporal dam structure 1 for building berth is constructed with a pair of parallel side dam boards 2, 2 having horizontally elongated ladder type upper edges and a rectangular end dam board 3 for choking between the end sections of the side dam board 2 at the sea side. The lower ends of said boards 2, 3 are inserted respectively into a parallel groove in longitudinal direction and a lateral groove in lateral direction made in the inclined face of the building berth and assembled water-tightly and dismantlably. Consequently, boring for shaft bracket can be performed through utilization of movable dam without varying the fixing position of hull on the building berth even for such vessel as having a shaft bracket projecting considerably below the bottom.
