The improved method for the zinc electrowinning in cells having anodes made of lead or alloys thereof, is designed to reduce the electric energy consumption by means of an addition, in the electrolyte, of organic anodic depolarizing compounds, of low molecular weight, such as ethylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, acetic acid, urea and the like, in combination with an electrolyte agitation by air or gas blowing in, according to the so called ''Air Sparging'' technique. An addition of an optional organic agent to improve the zinc deposit quality, such as dextrin, glues or the like, is also provided. |
