PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled material having superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking by subjecting an austenitic material contg. Ni, Cr, Mo, Ti and Nb to hot working, rapid cooling reheating, rapid cooling and cold rolling under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:An austenitic material contg., by weight, >=about 30% Ni, >=about 20% Cr, >=about 25% Mo and about 3% Ti and/or about 5% Nb is heated to >=1,000 deg.C and hot worked. It is rapidly cooled from >=800 deg.C, reheated to 880-960 deg.C, rapidly cooled again and cold worked. An austenitic material for an oil well pipe having superior corrosion resistance is obtd. |
