PURPOSE:To retain recording at high transfer efficiency and high image quality for a long term by forming on a conductive substrate a ceramic dielectric layer having voids sealed with a resin having a resistivity >=10<10>OMEGA.cm. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 1 is prepared by forming the ceramic dielectric layer 3 on the cylindrical conductive substrate 2 made of a metal, such as aluminum, its alloy, or stainless steel, in a thickness enough to prevent deformation caused by pressure. The ceramic dielectric layer 3 is formed into a film on the conductive substrate 2 by using a mixture of a polymer made of org. groups and an inorg. element, and an inorg. powder, and heat treating it to remove the organic groups, or by thermal spraying ceramics, or the like process, and sealing the voids of the obtained ceramic dielectric layer with a resin having a resistivity >=10<10>OMEGA.cm, thus permitting the obtained electrostatic recording device of a pressure transfer system to have high abrasion resistance and high impact resistance, and to form a high-quality image during uses for a long term. |
