PURPOSE:To perform correct tracing operation without any slip even when a rotary disk is brought into gentle contact by fitting an impeller which is rotted by compressed air for sealing onto the main shaft of the rotary disk. CONSTITUTION:The seal body consisting of a narrow passage 17 and an air supply means 18 is provided outside the coupling 14 between the rotary disk 4 which comes into rolling contact with a body to be measured and a rotary encoder 11, and the impeller 27 having plural vanes 29 is fitted onto the main shaft 5 of the rotary disk 6. Then when a measurement is taken, an inflow into the instrument is pushed back by the compressed air spouted from the narrow passage 17 and the impeller 27 is rotated. The torque of this rotation accelerates the rotation of the rotary disk 6. Consequently, even when the rotary disk 6 is brought into gentle contact with the body to be measured, correct tracing operation is carried out without any slip, so that the measurement is taken accurately. |
