PURPOSE:To shorten the operating time by providing a under water pump, an elevating mechanism thereof and a valve means by which both the reflux of the liquid drawn-out with the underwater pump to the inside of a vessel and the transfer thereof to the outside are changed over in accordance with a measured value of a monitor. CONSTITUTION:An underwater pump 5 is descended to a suitable depth in a liquid 2 of the inside of a storage vessel 1, generally in the neighborhood of an interface 31 in the liquid of the settled sludge 3 and started to stir the sludge and to draw out one part of the slurried liquid. At first the whole amounts of the drawn-out liquid are returned to the inside of the vessel 1 through a reflux line 15 but a valve 14 is changed over by detecting that the concn. of the liquid is made suitable for the transfer in accordance with the progress of the stirring with a monitor 13. The liquid is transferred through a transfer line 16 to the outside. In order to assure stirring, if necessary, one part of the liquid is successively returned to the vessel 1. |
