PURPOSE:To provide easily wear resistance and corrosion resistance to materials to be treated such as brush roll shaft of a brush roll machine made of an ordinary steel by blasting the surface of said materials to be treated then irradiating a wear-resistant inorg. material thereto and painting a corrosion-resistant paint thereon. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the above-mentioned materials to be treated such as brush roll shaft and backup roll is blasted by a proper blasting material such as SiC. The corrosion- and wear-resistant ceramics (e.g.; Al2O3, TiO2, etc.), metal (e.g.; NiCr, Co, etc.), cermet, etc., are then irradiated to the blasted materials to form a thermally sprayed layer thereon. The corrosion-resistant resin paint (e.g.; a phenolic resin of a thermally spraying type) is coated on the thermally sprayed layer by coating or spraying method to seal the pinholes of the thermally sprayed layer. The properties of the above-mentioned brush roll shaft, etc., are improved. |
