PURPOSE:To produce the titled silicon steel sheet having an improved iron less characteristic and magnetic flux density by subjecting a hot rolled silicon steel sheet contg. a specific ratio each of Si, Mn, S and Se to cold rolling and decarburization annealing then coating a separating agent for annealing consisting essentially of Bi contg. MgO on the surface thereof and subjecting the sheet to final finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:The hot rolled silicon steel sheet contg. 2.5-4.0wt.% Si, 0.02-0.15wt.% Mn and 0.008-0.080wt.% in either of S or Se or two kinds thereof in total is subjected to at least one pass of cold rolling. The rolled sheet is then degreased and is subjected to decarburization annealing. The separating agent for annealing consisting essentially of MgO is coated on the surface of the steel sheet and the steel sheet is subjected to final finish annealing. At least one kind selected from Bi or Bi-contg. material (BiS, Bi2O3, etc.) is added and compounded to and with the separating agent for annealing. The compounding ratio thereof is made 0.1-5.0wt.% in terms of Bi.
