发明名称 METHOD OF REDUCING ALDEHYDE AND KETONE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a corresponding alcohol in high yield with easy isolation of reaction product, by reacting an aldehyde or a ketone with an alcohol by the use of hydrous zirconium hydroxide as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An alkali aqueous solution is added to an aqueous solution of zirconium oxychloride, the system is adjusted to 6-7pH, very small gel is filtered off, excess aqueous solution of salt is removed, formed bulky gel is washed with deionized water, dried, to give hydrous zirconium hydroxide stable in water, an alchol, and other solvents. It is heated to about 80 deg.C, dried, classified, to prepare a reaction catalyst. 1-3g of the catalyst is added to 1 millimol aldehyde or ketone and 1-3ml isopropyl alcohol, which are heated, or a reaction tank filled with the catalyst is heated to 75-110 deg.C, and gasified isopropyl alcohol, the aldehyde or ketone together with a carrier gas are passed through it, to give a corresponding alcohol.
