PURPOSE:To search automatically a program without malfunction by recording a program search signal and a phase control signal on an area of a divided track where no recording signal is recorded. CONSTITUTION:Program search control circuit F outputs a write signal, which sets a program search signal write switch 7 to the side of a contact b7, in response to the output of a program search signal generating switch SW3. The program search signal write switch 7 is set to the side of the contact b7 by this write signal, and only the program search signal is given to a mixing circuit 6A. That is, a PCM audio signal is not written when the program search signal is written, and it is made easy to detect the program search signal at the reproducing time. The program search signal ad the phase control signal are recorded on areas 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 of a divided track 3Y and areas 51, 52, 53, and 54 of a divided track 5Y.
