PURPOSE:A powdery cosmetic, obtained by incorporating fine powdery hydrophobized anhydrous silica with other components, capable of preventing the caking, contained well in puff, sponge, brush, etc., without scattering of powder, having high water repellency, and scarcely causing makeup disorder by sweat or water. CONSTITUTION:A powdery cosmetic containing 0.1-20wt% hydrophobized anhydrous silica having <=100mmu, particularly <=50mmu average particle diameter. The anhydrous silica is treated with an alkylchlorosilane, e.g. dime thyldichlorosilane, or hydrophobized with a silicone expressed by formula I (R is alkyl, benzyl, cyclohexyl, naphthyl, furfuryl or H; n is 1-1,000) or a mix ture thereof with a silicone expressed by formula II (m is 10-200) in hydrophobizing the anhydrous silica. |
