PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient bonding strength by forming an undercoat layer contg. a specified cross-linking agent on a hydrophobic support and a photosensitive layer contg. a water soluble polymer and/or a protective layer on the undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:An undercoat layer contg. a water soluble polymer and a cross- linking agent having an epoxy group is formed on a hydrophobic support such as a film of cellulose ester or polyethylene or a composite film obtd. by coating or laminating the plastic film on other support such as paper. A synthetic or natural, hydrophilic, high molecular compound such as a homo- or copolymer of gelatin or phthalated gelatin or a partial hydrolyzate thereof is used as the water soluble polymer. The amount of the water soluble polymer in the undercoat layer is 0.01-1.0g/m<2>. Thus, sufficient bonding strength is obtd. between a photographic emulsion layer and the hydrophobic support and/or a polymer layer formed on the support. |
