PURPOSE:A friction material that is prepared by adding iron sulfide to a friction material containing steel, thus being suitable as drum brake lining, disk brake pad or clutch facing in trucks and passenger cars, because it has high and stabilized friction coefficient. CONSTITUTION:The objective friction material is prepared by adding 0.5-20wt% of iron sulfide such as FeS, Fe2S3, FeS2, FeS1+x (x<0.1) to a friction material which conssits of metallic, inorganic or organic fibers other than asbestos, as a reinforcing material, a thermosetting resin such as phenolic resin or epoxy resin and an organic or inorganic filler. EFFECT:It reduces the wear of the counterpart and show high self-abrasion resistance. |
