PURPOSE:The titled ointment containing 5-fluorouracil, 1-dodecylazacyclo heptan-2-one and carbopol. CONSTITUTION:An ointment, containing carcinostatic agents, and obtained by incorproating 0.05-20wt% 5-fluorourail (5-FU), 1-15wt% 1- dodecylazacycloheptan-2-one (Azone) and 0.1-5wt% carbopol with other components and if necessary a neutralizing agent, e.g. caustic soda, caustic potash or ammonia, for the carbopol, water and a base for the ointment, e.g. propylene glycol or polyethylene glycol. The purpose in adding the above- mentioned neutralizing agent is to reduce the skin irritation and the pH of the pharmaceutical is preferably near 7. EFFECT:Although ointments containing the 5-FU have low skin permeability, this ointment has remarkably high absorbability through the skin. |
