PURPOSE:To control the inclination of a magnetic head and the rocking of the magnetic head in the vertical direction of a magnetic disc and suppress the resonance of the arm mechanism side by constituting a gimbals spring body so that it has a number of degrees of freedom of motion only in the peripheral direction of the disc. CONSTITUTION:The first gimbals spring body 4 is so constituted that it has a number of degrees of freedom of motion only in the peripheral direction of a magnetic disc 3. A pivot supporting body 1a which is formed together with a carriage 1 as one body and has the front end surface formed to an arc or a plane is brought into contact with the center on the rear surface of the gimbals spring body 4. The first magnetic head 5 is attached to the center on the front surface of the first gimbals spring body 4. An arm mechanism 6 is provided openably and closably on the carriage 1 by a supporting spring body 7 consisting of a flat spring-shaped hinge. The second gimbals spring body 8 is attached to the lower surface in the front end of the arm mechanism 6. The gimbals spring body 8 has a number of degrees of freedom of motion only in the peripheral direction of the magnetic disc. A pivot supporting body 6a which is formed together with the arm mechanism 6 as one body and has the front end surface formed to an arc or a plane is abutted on with the center on the rear surface of the gimbals spring body 8.
