PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. having excellent resistance to heat are wear and road holding quality and suitable for use in the production of high- performance general-purpose and sporting tire treads, by blending a low- molecular arom. vinyl/diene copolymer with a diene rubber. CONSTITUTION:10-60wt% low-molecular arom. vinyl/diene copolymer (A) having an MW of 200-50,000 and satisfying the formula (wherein X is wt% of bonded arom. vinyl and Y is percentage of butadiene units bonded to vinyl in total butadiene units) obtd. by copolymerizing an arom. vinyl compd. (e.g. styrene) and a diene compd. (e.g. butadiene) in the presence of an organolitium compd. initiator in a hydrocarbon solvent, the balance of a diene rubber (B) having a glass transition temp. of -60 deg.C or above (e.g. emulsion-polymerized or solution-polymerized styrene/butadiene rubber having a high styrene content) and optionally, additives such as extender oil, filler, vulcanization accelerator, etc., are blended together. |
