PURPOSE:To align the load centers of normal edging and preforming with the center of a press by furnishing the press with a press head formed by arranging a main anvil having a slant chamfered part and a parallel part, and a preforming anvil having a slant part, into a lamination layer. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous edging press of a hot slab; a pair of main press anvils 1, having each a rolling reduction surface consisting of a slant chamfered part 1a at the inlet side in the slab-transporting direction and a parallel part 1b continuing from the part 1a to the outlet side, and a pair of preforming press anvils 2, having each a rolling reduction surface consisting of a slant part 2a opening from the inlet side in the slab-transporting direction to the outlet side, are arranged into a lamination layer, and are fixed to tool beds 3 respectively so that each bed 3 is made vertically movable together with the anvils 1, 2 along an inner block 5 by driving hydraulic cylinders 4. The front end of slab is preformed by the slant chamfered part 1a of anvil 1, and the slab 1 is successively provided with normal edging by the chamfered part 1a and the parallel part 1b, and the rear end of slab is preformed by the slant part 2a of preforming anvil 2 by raising the tool beds 3. |
