PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of noises by positioning the stylus tip at the tip of the axial line of a linear tone arm and at the same time attaching the cartridge main body after giving an offset angle to this cartridge main body only. CONSTITUTION:A shell 31 is attached on the axial line of a linear tone arm 2 in the same direction as the arm 2. Then a cartridge main body 33 only is attached to the arm 2 with an offset angle given so that a stylus 2a is turned approximately to the tangent direction of the sound groove of a record in its play mode. Thus no force of the axial direction is applied to the arm 2 when the record is played. This prevents the resonance produced among a cartridge 30, the arm 2 and a conductive connection line put into the arm 2 respectively. Therefore the noises due to the resonance phenomenon can be avoided and the reproduced sounds are secured with high fidelity.
