PURPOSE:To improve the processing capacity of a central processing unit by arraying the token processors on a row in a grid and transferring tokens only with an adjacent processor or an input/output mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A token processor 6 consists of a token transfer control part 1 of a single direction, a token processing part 2 and a switch mechanism 3. The address part and the data part of tokens are supplied to an FIFO register 1a from AI and DI respectively. Then the address is compared with the value of an address register 1c through a comparator 1b. When the coincidence is obtained from this comparison, the data part is sent to the part 2. If no coincidence of comparison is obtained, both the data part and the address part are delivered through D0 and A0 respectively via the mechanism 3. Thus the transfer of tokens is localized to avoid the effects to other local transfers of tokens.
