PURPOSE:To freely wind surface-treated band steel round a drum by repeatedly shifting a winding drum right and left in the axial direction with high accuracy, and disposing a rubber roll for preventing a slip in contact with the drum. CONSTITUTION:A surface-treated band steel 4 reaches a winding drum 1 through a fixed guide roll 8 and a rubber roll 3. A shift mechanism 2 is repeatedly moved right and left along the axis of the winding drum 1 with high accuracy. The band steel 4 is automatically regulated to be freely wound round the drum 1 by an encoder 12 of a switch device 5. Furthermore, the band steel 4 can be suitably wound round the drum 1 without any slip, unevenness, slip-off by interlocking of the rubber roller 3 with the winding drum 1.
