PURPOSE:To obtain a light-gauge strip wherein{110}<001> orientation are integrated in the longitudinal direction and which has excellent magnetic characteristics by rolling the steel strip obtained by a direct plate making method from molten steel in the <001> direction which is the axis of easy magnetization of BCC crystals such as Fe prior to annealing of said strip. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel consisting of 2.0-8.0% Si, and the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities is injected from a nozzle onto the surface of a cooling body moving at a high speed and is quickly cooled and solidified, whereby a continuous light-gauge strip is obtained. This strip is heated to 500-1,100 deg.C and is immediately rolled at 75-95% draft at an equal peripheral speed or is rolled at 40-90% draft at dissimilar peripheral speeds. After a release agent contg. sulfide is coated on both surfaces of the resultant thin strip, the strip is subjected to finish annealing at 1,000-1,300 deg.C. |
