PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of freezing by mixing anti-freezing cooling oil with coolant for cooling a laser tube to accumulate the coil in a pump, a coolant passage and a heat exchanger at stopping time even when an ion laser is used in a cold district. CONSTITUTION:A power source 1 is connected between the cathode 3 of a laser tube 2 and an anode 4, and when a laser is operated a laser fine tube 9 is heated by a discharging current. A pump 14 is operated simultaneously when the laser is operated to forcibly supply coolant 7 in a tank 15 to a coolant passage 10 to cool the tube 9. The heated coolant is cooled by a heat exchanger 13, and returned to the tank 15. In the operating state of the laser, the coolant 7 and the oil 11 are mixed to circulate in the coolant passage, but when a laser power source 1 is turned OFF to stop a pump 14, cooling oil in the coolant is separated due to the difference of the gravity, the coolant having large specific gravity is accumulated in the lower portion (15), and the oil having small specific gravity is accumulated at the upper portions (14, 13 and the like). |
