PURPOSE:To enable rapid and perfect recording to be performed without reversing recording paper under a simple structure by providing a platen roller having its shaft directly crossing the running direction of a carrier with recording paper held on one carrier opposed to a recording head on the other carrier. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper 13 is sandwiched between a thermal head 11b on the P side of a recording surface and a platen roller 2a on the Q side of a recording surface, and also between a thermal head 11a on the Q side of a recording surface and a platen roller 2b on the P side of a recording surface under some pressure. If an electric energy is supplied to thermal heads 11a, 11b in this condition, a thermal resistor heats, transmitting heat to ink ribbons 8a, 8b. Thus the recording surface Q, P of recording paper 13 are recorded. Carriers 7a, 7b are synchronized moving in an arrow direction D while continuing said recording. In addition, the platen rollers 2a, 2b also continue rotating in an arrow direction G, G' following the movement of the carriers 7a, 7b. In this way, the same operation is repeated after feeding a line on the recording paper 13. |
