PURPOSE:To accomplish orderly loading by bringing a pressing and holding member into contact with a loading member to hold twofold work on the loading member while on detecting the forward end of the sheet work, the loading member is moved to a loading position after standby for a set time of a timer. CONSTITUTION:When the leading end of interline cloth W is detected by a sensor 8, a tier for setting a standby time is set. When the interline cloth W is hung down by a designated length suitable for folding in two, the timer is timed up, and a solenoid valve for controlling the immersion of an air cylinder 19 is closed. Simultaneously, a solenoid valve for controlling the projection of the air cylinder 19 is opened for a time previously set by a stroke adjust timer. Accordingly, a loading member 16 is moved forward from the standby position to a loading position to be brought into contact with a pressing and holding member 17, so that the interline cloth W on the loading member 6 is pressed and held by the member 17. Subsequently, the members 16 and 17 are turned in a body to the loading position, and the trailing end portion of the interline cloth W is drawn out from a supply portion 4 of a pressing machine 2, so that the interline cloth is loaded in twofold state on the member 16 and the member is returned to the standby position.
