PURPOSE:To reduce molding time, to decrease the amt. of the stuccoing material to be used and to improve the strength and toughness of a casting mold by adding carbon fibers or refractory fibers into a slurry or stuccoing material. CONSTITUTION:The fibers are not always required to be added into the slurry or stuccoing material at every stage, i.e., for every layer and are added to the proper layer by adjusting the amt. of the fibers to be added in the case of adding the fibers into the slurry and/or stuccoing material. The addition of the fibers to the stuccoing material to coat the surface thereof is executed by containing the fiber-added stuccoing material into a vessel having, for example, a porous brick in the bottom, supplying air through the porous brick from below to form a fluidized layer and inserting the casting mold to be coated therein to coat said material to the mold.
