PURPOSE:To obtain excellent characteristics for an optical reader, excellent light resistance and plasticizer resistance, by additionally using an IR-absorbing organic compound, in a chelate recording material using an iron (III) compound and/or a vanadium compound and a ligand compound in combination. CONSTITUTION:The iron (III) compound may be (1) an organophosphorus compound having a P-O...Fe<3+> linkage and/or a P-S...Fe<3+> linkage, (2) a carboxylic acid, a thio-acid or a dithio-acid, (3) an organosulfur compound having an S-OH bond, a compound salt thereof or a mixed salt thereof, or may be a siloxane composite such as polyferrophenylmethylsiloxane, or the like. Among others, an organophosphorus compound having the P-O...Fe<3+> linkage and/or the P-S...Fe<3+> linkage is preferred in view of being light-colored and showing a favorable color forming property. Particularly, a composite iron (III) salt of at least one such organophosphorus compound with at least one of carboxylic acids, thio-acids, dithio-acids and organosulfur compounds having the S-OH bond is light-colored and has a favorable initial color forming property. |
