A protective arrangement includes a base I on which is mounted a core-balance transformer 4 having two primary windings which carry the load current in opposite directions, one between terminals 6, 8 and one between terminals 7, 9. The secondary winding is connected to an operating coil 10 of a magnetic member 5 which is also operable on heavy overload due to the flux produced in the windings between terminals 7, 9. The trip member 5 which may be biased by remanent or permanent magnetism, releases a latch on which contacts are mounted. |
