PURPOSE:To prevent shock of a tappet device by limiting moving timing of a cam by means of a trigger cam provided on a cam shaft in the tappet device in which the cm is moved in the axial line direction to change valve characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A cam cylinder 6 having a medium and low speed cam lobe 9 and a high speed cam lobe 10 is slidably provided on a cam shaft 5, and the cam cylinder 6 is moved by oil pressure through a slide fork 19 and the cam lobe coming in contact with a rocker arm 12 is changed over to medium and low speed 9 or high speed 10. a trigger cam 23 is provided on the cam shaft 5 and moving timing of the slide fork 19 is limited to the pause time of a valve according to the motion of a trigger lever 22 in contact with the cam 23, and application of impulse force to the rocker arm 12 and cam lobes can be prevented. |
