PURPOSE:To make more accurate detection of position, by correcting position data obtained with an absolute position detector or the absolute position calculated from the position data according to the length of a feedback cable. CONSTITUTION:A wire 34 is connected to an absolute position detector 33 from a driver/converter circuit 32 to supply excitation current to a primary exciting winding thereof. The secondary output PA from the absolute position detector is fed back to the driver/converter circuit 32 through the wire 35. The feedback signal PA is converted into a position data with the driver/ converter circuit 32 and then, fed to a central processing unit CPU36, which performs a correction corresponding to the value of the feedback cable length L to calculate the absolute position. Thus, accurate detection of the absolute position can be done.
