PURPOSE:To burn and remove soot or an adhesive substance, and make it possible to measure prescribed air quantity by integrally assembling a heating element in a regulating valve to regulate air flow rate passing through an orifice in an idle air path, and providing an adiabatic cylinder which covers the heating element with loose fitting on it and communicates with the orifice. CONSTITUTION:A regulating valve 8 fixed to an idle air path 16 has a heating element made of nichrome wire 9. An adiabatic cylinder 13 made of material having small heat transfer coefficient covers the longitudinal part of the heating element with loose fitting on it. The side wall of the adiabatic cylinder 13 is provided with a side wall opening 14 communicating with a orifice 6 which is fixed through the adiabatic cylinder 13. Consequently soot or an adhesive substance adhering to the orifice 6 or the regulating valve 8 is burned and removed, and prescribed air quantity can be therefore measured, and in addition, thermal deformation occurring near the heating element can be prevented. |
