PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composite material excelling in resistance to oxidation as well as corrosion resistance by forming an oxidation-resistant coating layer of an Al2O3 surface layer and of an intermediate layer of a specific intermetallic compound. CONSTITUTION:In the ceramics-metal composite material having the oxidation- resistant coating layer on its surface, the oxidation-resistant coating layer is formed of two layers, the surface layer and the intermediate layer. The surface layer is composed of Al2O3, the intermediate layer is composed of the intermetallic compound between Al and a ceramics-metal complex-forming element and the coating layer is formed by Al packing on the surface of the ceramics-metal complex to obtain the titled composite material.
