摘要 |
PURPOSE:To recognize stamped characters accurately by converting character image data stored in an image memory into optimum binary image data by using an optimum binary-coded threshold value calculated by an optimum threshold value arithmetic means. CONSTITUTION:Character image data inputted to the optimum threshold value arithmetic means is converted by a binary-coded conversion part into binary image data based upon the specific binary-coded threshold value and the data is sent to a character data extraction part. This extraction part extracts characters from the binary image data, one by one, and sends them to a coefficient arithmetic part. The coefficient arithmetic part calculates a coefficient K corresponding to the character line width delta of the input character data from K=l/S (S: the area of the stamped part of characters outputted from the character extraction part, l: the overall length of the periphery of the stamped part). Optimum binary-coded threshold values are stored in a threshold table and a threshold selection part selects a corresponding optimum binary-coded threshold value on the basis of the coefficient K inputted from the coefficient arithmetic part and sends it out to a converting means.
