REFLECTION TYPE OPTICAL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

PURPOSE:To improve the yields of production along with a higher sensitivity and accuracy of a sensor, by inserting the tip of an optical fiber into a through hole of a ferrule while a reflector is grasped between the tip of the ferrule and the bottom of a ferrule holder. CONSTITUTION:A reflection type optical fiber temperature sensor is made up of an optical fiber 11, a reflector 12, a ferrule 14 having a through hole 13 into which the tip of the fiber 11 is inserted and a bottomed ferrule holder 15 into which the ferrule 14 is inserted along the direction of the axis (a) of the through hole 13. The tip of the fiber 11 is inserted into the through hole 13 of the ferrule 14 and a reflector 12 is grasped between the tip 14a of the ferrule 14 and the bottom 15a of the holder 15. Thus, a strong reflected light can be obtained from the reflector 12 thereby improving the sensitivity and accuracy as well as the yields of production.
