PURPOSE:To input 50 KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters with 12 kinds of keys by hitting two kinds of keys almost at the same time and discriminating a row and a column in a matrix table of the character group according to the combination of the two kinds of hit keys. CONSTITUTION:When a KANA character 'to' is inputted, a KANA shift key is hit and then a data key 19, i.e. '4/ta' and a data key 20, i.e. '5/na' are hit almost at the same time. When the key 19 is hit, a keyboard input device recognizes that 'ta' is inputted and when the key 20 is hit, the keyboard device recognizes that '5' is inputted. The keyboard input device selects and inputs 'to' which is in the row of the 't' series and column of '5' in the KANA 50-character matrix table on the basis of the combination of 'ta' and '5'.
