PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus which can be heated quickly up to a predetermined temperature and can maintain warmth, by irradiating electromagnetic waves from the bottom of the apparatus, and by providing a temperature sensor on the surface, on the inside or the outside of an object to be heated. CONSTITUTION:A thermo-sensor 2 is located on a table where a cooking pot is put on during heating operation. The thermo-sensor and its lead wire are shielded by conductive material in order to prevent those parts from receiving damage by electromagnetic waves. The thermo-sensor 2 is made of elastic material so as to be closely contacted to the bottom of a cooking vessel, and it is protruded a little from the surface of the table. An oscillator 4 such as a magnetron can be positioned under the bottom of an apparatus to directly irradiate electromagnetic waves to it upwardly, or it can be irradiated from the other part. The electromagnetic waves must be irradiated to the bottom of a cooking pan only and it does not irradiate the other parts. For this purpose, conductive shields 5 are composed of a number of long and thin metallic strips laid in a row and they are connected to each other by a conductive cord, so that the area of a shield can be controlled arbitrarily. |
