PURPOSE:To obtain two transition resonance absorption spectra of a paramagnetic molecule, by providing a laser exciting part having a rectangular cross-sectional space equal to or smaller than the min. cross-sectional area of laser beam formed by two reflective mirrors of a laser exciting part. CONSTITUTION:The laser exciting part 12 present between two reflective mirrors 5, 6 is constituted of a rectangular tube having a cross-sectional space equal to or smaller than the min. cross-sectional area of laser beam generated in a free space by two reflective mirrors. In this case, when the cross-section is square, mutually vertical surfaces comprise different materials. By this constitution, oscillated laser comes to linear polarized beam determined in a polarizing direction and, by rotating laser oscillation tube by 90 deg., two kinds of linear polarized beams vertical and parallel to a magnetic field are obtained. As the material of the tube, oxide such as SiO2, AbO3 or BeO and a metal such as Cu, Al, Ag or Au are used. The polarizing direction of laser is determined by the material and shape of the tube. |
