<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a safer electric power steering sensor, by installing No.1 sensor detecting a deviation angle of a handle shaft from a driving shaft, the No.2 sensor covering an angle of rotation of the driving shaft relative to the car body and the No.3 sensor detecting a smaller area than those of the Nos. 1 and 2 sensors. CONSTITUTION:A deviation angle sensor 7 is fixed in a housing 8 for detecting a deviation angle of the handle shaft 1 from the driving shaft 2. A neutral angle sensor 10 is supported by a holder 9 for detecting the neutral position angle of the driving shaft. The holder 9 supports further the No.3 sensor 14 for detecting the neutral position of the driving shaft and detects a smaller angle (approx. + or -4 deg. and less) than the deviation angle sensor (approx. + or -10 deg. and less) and the neutral angle detecting sensor (approx. + or -15 deg. and less) and when output signals of the sensors for the deviation angle and neutral angle exceed the certain specified value, then the power steering system is identified as defective.</p> |
