PURPOSE:To attain a light transmission device small in size and high in accu racy by removing a certain length of a coating layer of a capillary tube of a protective layer coating and integrating the cell and the capillary tube. CONSTITUTION:A metal coat of aluminium for example is applied to the outer periphery of a capillary tube 2 made of quartz or the like viterous material and a part of the coating 3 is removed to provide the cell 4 capable of light transmission. The protective is provided from epoxy resin to the portion other than the cell 4 and dipped in an etching solution such as hydrochrolic acid or by oxygen etching, or the metal coating 3 is used as the anode and aluminium is used as the cathode for dippig in the electrolytic solution for forming the cell 4 with improved accuracy in teh cell length. Hence, in the metal coated capillary, the cell 4 is formed integrally as the capillary tube 2 so that the overall size is reduced. Since it is only necessary to remove the protetive layer in forming the cell, the cell of the desired length can be obtained easily with improved cell accuracy. |
