发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF GAS DIFFUSION ELECTRODE
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent liquid from leaking by applying a suspension or a latex of water repellent fluororesin as an adhesive to one surface of the catalytic layer of a gas diffusion electrode, and heating it to evaporate and eliminate a dispersion medium, and thereafter pressing a current collecting body to the other surface, and coating a water repellent resin film on an adhesive resin film to improve the bonding force. CONSTITUTION:The catalytic layer 30 of a gas diffusion electrode 5 used in a button type air cell or the like is formed by mixing, for example, active carbon and fluororesin powder. The layer of an adhesive 33 is formed by applying a suspension or a latex of fluororesin powder such as polytetrafluoroethylene to the entire of one surface of this catalytic layer 30, and thereafter heating it at about temperatures 200-400 deg.C to evaporate and eliminate the water content of a dispersion medium and to heat and melt a part of the fluororesin powder. Next, a current collecting body 32 of a Ni net and the like is pressed to the opposite side of the catalytic layer 30 to make an integration. Next, a water repellent, porous resin film is sticked to an adhesive 33. Thus, the gaseous diffusion electrode 5 with good discharging performance and good durability is obtained in which the film 31 is not exfoliated from the layer 30, and accordingly an electrolytic solution will not penetrate between the layer 30 and the resin film.
