PURPOSE:To obtain optical characteristics which are stable against a secular change without any axial shift during axis alignment and fixation by aligning and fixing a laser diode and an optical fiber to each other with plural screws. CONSTITUTION:A DIP type LD module consists of a package 1, a cover 2, a thermo module 3, a heat sink 4, a laser diode (LD) 5, a monitor PD 6, a chip carrier 7, a tapered tip-bead fiber 8, a thermistor 10, a sleeve 11, a fiber jacket 12, solder 13, a projection part 14, a female screw 15, and a male screw 16. When the filter 8 is adjusted axially in the direction of its optical axis, the male screw 16 is engaged threadably with the female screw 15 provided to the projection part of the package 1, the tip of the male screw 16 is pressed against the sleeve 11 with a screwdriver, etc., in plural directions perpendicular to the optical axis so that the optical fiber 8 is at a specific position and then clamped, and then the threadable engagement part of the screw 16 is locked with the solder 13. |
