Cryst. sultamicillin benezenesulfonate salts (I) [X=H or Cl! and their hydrates were prepd. from sultamicillin-HCl and PhSO3H in H2O. A dry blend for oral suspensions was prepd. contg. I(X=H). 2H2O so that when dild. to 100 ml with H2O the suspension contains the equiv. of 50 mg/ml of sultamicillin. (I) have excellent pharmacokinetic properties, optimal soly. and improved stability in bulk and in aq. suspensions.
