PURPOSE:To take a photograph while image storage plates are stacked in a supply magazine with reverse surfaces up and to prevent performance from deteriorating and life from being shortened by providing an inverting and conveying mechanism for image storage plates between the supply magazine and a stand-by position. CONSTITUTION:Many unexposed image storage plates 21 are stacked in the supply magazine 15 with their reverse surfaces up. Then, the reverse surfaces are sucked by a suction pad 22 to take the plates out, one by one, and they are sent out as shown by an arrow I by carrying rolls 23, 24 while side parts of the image storage plates 21 are clamped, further sent toward a guide block 39 by a conveyor belt 25, and guided as shown by an arrow J with their top surfaces up. Raising rollers 26 and 27 are driven according to the rotation of raising rollers 28 and 29 and the image storage plates 21 are guided to the stand-by positions under the guidance of the guide block 39 as shown by an arrow K, and turned over, so that the top surface sides where image information is stored face up. A holder 17 moves as shown by an arrow l and an object 7 is exposed to X rays from an X-ray tube at a photographic position E, thereby taking a picture.
